The term "abject poverty" refers to a level of extreme and destitute economic hardship, where individuals or communities lack even the most basic necessities for survival such as food, shelter, clean water, healthcare, education, and employment opportunities. People living in abject poverty often face severe hunger, malnutrition, disease, homelessness, and social exclusion. It is a condition characterized by profound deprivation and suffering, with little or no hope for improvement. Abject poverty is typically found in developing countries, but can also exist within developed nations as well.
